I have used some of the conventions of usual magazines, including a masthead, main article outline, main image, smaller article outlines and a competition in a box to grab peoples attention. For the main image, I edited out the sky behind the boy and the building, making the image flow into the background rather than having text onto my image. I used the yellow box to draw extra attention, and used the colour scheme of black, red and white.
